First—I’m sorry to hear you’re having such a negative experience. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and sharing this feedback. You’ve been with us for more than a year—that time includes some of our fastest growth ever. That year hasn’t always been a smooth ride, but we’re committed to absorbing this growth, listening to the team, and learning lessons from this period. Hopefully you’ve been able to join us for our last few leadership AMAs. In them, we shared the actions we’re taking as a leadership team based on our Q2 engagement survey, and dug into culture, answering questions about how we need to work together to achieve our mission. I’d like to hear more about what’s feeling off—if you’re up for a conversation, please reach out to me. L.J. Brock, Chief People Officer

Pros

- Invested heavily in having the best technology for talent in the industry - Great benefits - Salary, insurance, pension, WFH set up, crypto education programmes -If stock ever recovers it is best in class RSU offering(down about around 70% ytd) -Staff hired pre hypergrowth are high performers and some of the nicest people you will ever meet - Interesting industry, engineers in particular were very excited to engage - Some strong leaders like Greg, Stephanie to name a few - While the handling of the redundancy and pulled offers was poor the actual compensation was very generous. -Company is positioned really well in the market, if they can use the crypto winter to fix their internal management, culture and operational problems it can still become the dream company I thought I was joining.

Cons

I think the easy way to sum it up is it grew way too fast. I am sure this wasn't the strategy but the hiring ended up being hyper focused on FANG and also on under levelling(Directors coming in at senior management and management). It was a mess. - Information: It was impossible to get the right information at the right time. I am talking basics like your targets. DRI's for critical support and information were changing constantly. -Serious regional issues: Leaders responsible for multiple international spots. Investment and programmes focused on where the biggest fire is. New countrys opened based on a singular hire versus a strategy. -Incompetent and political mid to senior management. My manager told me we could ignore the company targets as she communicates to leadership that she she changed them. At the end of quarter she asked me to justify why we had not hit the company goals. -Very strange practices from HR on performance: My manager was friends with a person in my team and changed his target mid quarter as he was trending to hit under 50%. As his probation was coming up naturally wanted to protect her friend. In the following quarter my manager handed her notice when it was clear she would have been asked to leave. Shortly after the person in my team who was not delivering did not log in for 3 days. When I suggested this was not acceptable behavior my manager got me disciplined with HR(On her notice after her own performance was under par). It was the most bizarre experience I have had. - Bad publicity from people externally trying to damage the brand and CB choosing to ignore versus defend the company. - Public spats: People within company choosing external petitions to attack leadership instead of working internally to improve the place. Leaders countering publicly versus internally.
