Pros

Due to it's smaller size, it was easy to access upper management with ideas.

Cons

The company consistently put cost above value. They were very closed minded regarding using existing assets to cover regular employee expenses. Upper management routinely dumped intense, time consuming tasks on certain managers and held them to unusually high standards. The company is also irrationally afraid of union organisation and take any efforts to organise, by their minimally paid inside or outside workers, very personally.

Pros

Loved my 7+ years at Cardinal. Loved working nights. Liked the routes I did. Both as a broker and otherwise. As a driver Management seemed accessible.

Cons

Little to no support from management. If you are advanced in the company to a management position, they will find a way to keep you underpaid and underappreciated. Management says all kinds of things that will be about training and support but it won't happen. Management also has a very knee jerk reaction to issues and doesn't plan properly to counter possible problems. I worked very hard for this company working day and night for about 6 years before we lost our routes and they went to company drivers in the area. Worked sick, hurt, tired and sacrificed for this company including time with my children when they were young missing milestones. When in "Management" I was just chucked aside like trash. Broke my heart. So I guess I feel they just view people as things, tools to just get things done. They don't care about people and their lives. They hired a guy who got rid of all these guys who had kept the system rolling smoothly for years which just created constant issues.

I am very saddened to have read this note. This has never been my vision and is not an example of how we operate. I have always admired our drivers and leaders alike, and have made many efforts to reward our dedicated employees. Since day 1, I have always valued loyalty and hard work. I'd encourage you to contact me directly to have a deeper conversation. My direct email is richard.cooper@cardinalcouriers.com.
