Pros

remote work, autonomous, a lot of flexibility to how you manage your work

Cons

Engineering is based in Estonia and business decisions are made in LA. We have huge friction across orgs... what sales teams are selling <-> cs teams are promising <-> product & design team are mocking up <-> and what engineers are coding .... Nobody wants to admit they don't know how to manage a sinking ship. Many good people have been let go and I am seeing more exodus...

Great product + rocketship

Pros

Company is at the technology forefront (very close) of the IP licensing space. Lots of big name clients Very focused team with transparent OKRS, best practices, in-thread slack communication, talented people. Lots of autonomy to try new things with best practices Lots of things to learn in general This is the right place for you if you are looking for something fast pace and excited to build new products and identifying market ideas. If you are looking for a cushy tech job that has everything built out, you should keep looking.

Cons

Burn out is very real Long hours because of the timezone difference between LA and Estonia. Product and client facing teams are mostly in LA and engineering in Estonia...with some folks scattered across west and east coast. Generally, somebody needs to be staying late or waking up a lot earlier to have meetings... It's been ok but over time, this undoubtedly slows things down and ppl have to be more intentional with clear written communication or commit more time for meeting discussions. As a result, meetings can be void of emotional connection and everyone is just focused on getting things done. Sometimes remote communication makes us robotic and less empathetic in the way we message each other.
