Pros

- Got hands-on exposure to multiple areas, including program implementation, impact assessment, fundraising and research. - The work environment and leadership encourages you to think independently and adapt to new situations. - Gave me a strong, practical understanding of the public health sector that still helps me in my career today. - Supported with professional as well as personal growth!

Cons

The work environment is dynamic so be ready to adapt and take on challenges!

Pros

Overall, it is a great organisation with a genuine intent to solve real-world problems. In my experience, it provides excellent opportunities for young professionals along with industry-standard compensation packages. A few people may feel dissatisfied due to misunderstandings or comparisons with others.

Cons

I have seen some senior leadership members working extremely hard on the ground while being overloaded with multiple responsibilities. At the same time, some other departments have larger teams but may not give equal attention to their responsibilities. The organisation often focuses strongly on the program team and takes strict action when gaps are identified; however, the same standards do not always seem to be applied consistently across non-program teams.

Pros

- Gives a good exposure of public health at the grassroots - Pays well as compared to other NGOs - One learns new skills such as stakeholder engagement, liasioning, etc.

Cons

- The senior leadership or to be specific three men dominate the entire organisation - Almost every DL is trying to impress these three men so that they get promoted and hence keep their team mates aspirations aside - The organisation claims dissent as one of its core value but if you do dissent and try to constructive, the leadership will try to demotivate you and isolate you by talking about you behind your back, presenting you in a negative light in front of the CEO and other senior leadership - The HR is for namesake. If you try to seek a resolution from their side, they'll outright disregard you and make you feel bad. They'll clearly side with the senior leadership (even if you have the evidence) - There's an excessive focus on target achievement at the cost of compromise in quality - The organisation claims integrity to be one of its core value. However, it repeatedly promotes people to higher roles who have had serious integrity issues - Sexist jokes are quite common
