I applied online. I interviewed at iCapital (New York, NY) in May 2026
Interview
I first interviewed with Ben, one of the individuals I would have been working with directly. Following that conversation, I interviewed with HR. During that discussion, HR confirmed the salary range, mentioned that Ben was impressed with my interview, and even stated that my anticipated start date would be either June 15 or June 29.
I found this surprising, as no offer had been extended and no final hiring decision had been communicated. Discussing potential start dates before making an offer struck me as premature and suggested a lack of coordination in the hiring process.
HR indicated they would follow up early the following week. Instead, I did not hear back for nearly two weeks, at which point I was asked to schedule another interview. I completed that interview as requested and then heard nothing further—no update, no rejection, and no communication regarding my status in the process. The complete lack of follow-up after multiple interviews reflected poorly on the organization's recruiting and candidate experience.

Question 1
Tell us about your private equity experience and how it relates to this position.
I did a TO DO in Ruby on Rails on the Backend side and React on the FrontEnd.
It was an interesting process, the consultant was very participative. I had good support and feedback.

Question 1
The process and the challenge of the project were discussed.
The interview process was fairly long and inconsistent. It began with an online assessment that included a tricky leap year math problem, a greedy algorithm challenge, and a REST API design question related to a food outlet. The next round was with a highly knowledgeable Quant Developer who discussed topics like Black-Scholes and the VIX, followed by a collaborative design of a random stack. This was followed by an HR round where they were aggressive about salary expectations and pressured me into disclosing a range. Another technical round was with a younger Quant Dev who was unusually insistent on implementing solutions his way, asking for specific approaches like his version of "Merge K Sorted Lists" and testing various Python trivia. The round turned erratic with a sudden request to implement a templated map in C++. I did not pass this round, nor was I interested in continuing after that experience. I believe there were still 3–4 rounds left. Overall, the process felt disorganized and impersonal, and I never received any follow-up. This company may be best approached as practice for more serious opportunities at actual funds
