I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Phone screen, phone interview with a designer, design challenge, onsite (portfolio review, white boarding, 1:1s)
The process seemed fairly standard for product designers. They give you 2 prompts to choose from during the design challenge. The recruiting team is very nice, they try to help you as much as they can. Sometimes the interviewers do not have a lot of context when they interview you. They didn't tell me the team I would be working on until later in the process.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp in Sept 2021
Interview
Initial call with the internal recruiter. (30-45 mins). Talk through past experiences, describe current work, processes, and approach to gauge role fit.
The second interview with a design leader (45 mins).
This interview went into more detail about the design process and experience.
First interview with recruiter, which ended up taking about 1-2 months.
Second interview with hiring manger with basic questions.
Final interview was with many different people from the team, who don’t take the time to understand and listen to your answers. Read questions off script and didn't listen to my answers, as I was continually disrupted mid-sentence.
False information was given and no feedback was given, despite being asked.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2021
