      Teller Interview

      24 Dec 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Plymouth Meeting, PA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Plymouth Meeting, PA) in Dec 2010

      Interview

I applied online, did an online screening, then had a phone interview, followed a week later by a group interview. The group interview consisted of a recruiter in a small conference room with about 15 applicants, including myself. The applicants were all part of a particular region that the recruiter managed. He had a packet of information he went through, including the hourly wage 11.25/hr. Then he had each applicant tell him a story, a short story detailing two specific events. The first one, what was your greatest accomplishment in your professional life. The second one, describe a situation in your professional life where you went above and beyond for a particular person, and how were you rewarded by them for your efforts. Then, after everyone told their first story, and then everyone told their second story, the recruiter said that the next step would be passing on his recommendation to the managers in the local branch. Then we all left the conference room and exited out to our cars. The whole group interview took 2 hours. Advice I could give is don't sweat the group interview. It appear Wells Fargo is growing their branches and if you are looking for a career as a teller, you have found one of the better banks. Just be natural, speak slowly but clearly, look sharp, smile, and you will probably move on up. The recruiter said Wells Fargo is looking for individuals with sales and retail background, but not necessarily banking. Their interest is in people who have handled cash before and like the rush of helping someone and being rewarded for it. Wells Fargo is not looking for people looking for a "JOB", but rather a "CAREER". I haven't heard anything back since the interview. If we are selected we will be notified by a branch manager via email or phone. It is the holiday season, though, so who knows.

      Interview

Smooth interview just be genuine and transparent on goals and what values you can add to the company. Wells Fargo is big on customer service so they’ll ask you plenty of scenario style questions, relating to the customer experience and how you will act.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Daly City, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Daly City, CA)

      Interview

A 30min interview lasted only half the time with interviewer sounding robotic reading from script. Lack of compassion and human side to it. Interviewer had attitude as if unhappy with the job.
