The first call with a humble person makes my eyes shine. But the second call, with the guy who was supposed to evaluate my profile, was disappointing. He used a strange and unusual method of evaluation, focusing on algorithms and data structures—a topic typically studied in the first year of college. Some companies indeed require these skills for developing complex software and solving intricate problems or building libraries from scratch. However, the majority of companies mainly develop ERPs, web systems, and mobile apps, using libraries that provide ready-made solutions. Thus, evaluating candidates based solely on these criteria seems like a waste of time for both the candidate and the evaluator.
To make matters worse, the evaluator claimed he couldn't gauge my abilities in the field without even understanding how I work—quite humorous, really. I suspect he might be a college professor or something similar. Let's collaborate on a project together and see how well he performs.
