I applied online. It was a relaxed and friendly process where you do have a pre-interview, carry out a task and then have a follow-up interview with some of the Verve team.
I applied online. I interviewed at Verve Partners (London, England) in Mar 2020
Interview
It was a pleasant interview experience overall. The first stage is a 30 minute phone call with the hiring manager who asked me a series of motivation and competency based questions. Prior to the interview I had been told that little preparation was needed, but I feel that the questions definitely required more than just a little, so I am glad that I had prepared thoroughly. I was then sent a task to complete within a few days.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verve Partners
Interview
The interview process began with an informal 20 minute call from one of the senior management team, where my experiences, goals and personality were discussed. I was made to feel comfortable and the conversation flowed more like a 'chat' rather than an interrogation.
Following this call I was invited to Verve's graduate assessment day, which initially struck me as a potentially stressful day of tests and entrapment. When I arrived, however, the relaxed but professional atmosphere and friendly staff who greeted me warmly put my nervous to bed.
The assessment day itself took 3 hours and consisted of three parts; a 45 minute task which tested interpretation skills based on a piece of research conducted, a 1:1 interview with a senior member of staff and finally, a group presentation to collectively relate findings from 'task 1' to 4 of the senior management .
My overall experience of interviewing here was positive, it did feel that personality and suitability for the team was a much larger factor in the hiring process than for other positions I have previously interviewed for. For that reason I would suggest try to be yourself, you want to come across as professional, but don't let that get in the way of letting some of your quirks and oddities come out. Also, it is well worth doing your background research, although the process is handled delicately and you are treated with respect, these guys are switched on so don't be fooled!
