The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group (Moline, IL) in Jun 2011

      Interview

Upon selecting a position to apply for, you have to create a profile through the companies career site. You create your profile while applying such as providing educational background, skills etc. One you complete this online and submit the application, you receive a confirmation e-mail informing you that your application was received. You then receive a second e-mail from a third party that does the screening for skills and personality review. You click on the like to go to the evaluation test. The test takes about twenty minutes. Personality and skills are accessed by your responses to questions. Once you complete this evaluation, you receive a second confirmation e-mail confirming that your information has been forwarded to UHG as well as attached to your UHG profile. The third phase consist of an e-mail informing your to log back into the UHG Career site to schedule an interview. Make note, this is not an interview, but another skill/personality test. Initially you fill in any missing information on your application, reviewing background skills, education, confirming to a background check electronically etc. Next comes the test again. This test consist of the same questions you did prior through the third party as well as a four part interactive skill test. This interactive test has nothing to do with the company at all. It test your ability to listen, type (multi-task) accurately. You will cover one health policy, auto insurance, travel agency, and policy research. It is really fun and very easy. A sixth grader could do it. After this, you are escorted out individually. While you are walking out, the test administrator informs you at this time to schedule a phone interview. If at this time you are thanked and informed your score will be reviewed and you will be contacted for the next step, you do not have the job. If you are luck, then you will schedule the phone interview with the test administrator. The phone interview consist of five behavior questions. What I did before the phone interview is reviewed the questions others posted and using Word, got my responses typed out to sound more professional. Go figure, the questions were exactly the same as the ones others posted on this site. Following the phone interview, you again are informed to schedule a 1:1 interview with your manager. The next phase is the 1:1 with your manager (future supervisor etc.). This is the same thing as the phone interview with the same questions to watch your visual cues to responses. I kind of froze up because I did not know if I could give the same answers to the questions. I was informed that they did not have access the the phone interview portion of the interview so I was ok to repeat the same response. During this interview your are made an offer for the position as well as training dates etc. You are informed that it is a contingency offer following the response of your background check and drug test. You are also informed that the following steps will be provided in an e-mail from HR. Two days later I receive a call from HR with an offer, the offer is also e-mailed to you with directions for drug testing etc. At this time you inform HR directly that you again accept the offer. Upon receiving the e-mail from HR, you have 48HRs to complete the drug test. You will also receive a second e-mail that has a eight page offer explaining the company, your salary, job description etc.
