I was contacted by a recruiter who was interested. I wasn't looking at the time, but the role was a good fit. She told me a target salary and that even though the role wasn't remote, they would make it remote for me. I was then screened. I waited and waited, only to see they changed the job to remote, and the salary range was SIGNIFICANTLY higher. Of course a fully remote job offering 2x the pay would get more candidates. Wasted my time entirely. Beware these practices! It was essentially a sleazy car salesman aka recruiter, trying to headhunt and get a lower price.
