Applied online, received email from recruiter in Colorado a week later.
Asked me to fill in a skills evaluation form. Sent it back and she
emailed that she sent the package to the hiring manager in Sunnyvale.
A few days later got a call from the hiring manager, after a phone screen,
he asked me to come in for a live interview. Went in for one round of
interviews at Trimble Sunnyvale. Interviewed with manager and two senior
engineers. Everyone was cordial, nothing out of the ordinary.
My impression is that they are an older, mature company with things
very entrenched. So job walls are very rigid, you have to fill the
position like a glove. They have a lot of history and a lot of people there
a long time by Silicon valley standards. Words I would NOT use to
describe the vibe - enthused, passionate, excited, fun. Just seem
like very competent people doing their job.
