Senior Director of Healthy Living Interview

      29 Feb 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Worcester, MA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Worcester, MA) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Had an informal "chat" the intent of which was to provide me with information about the position. Then a phone screening, then a formal interview with 4 people. The process made a lot of sense as it developed. However, it was clear from the interview that the team assembled did not have consensus on what the end goal of hiring for the position was. Meaning, they knew they had various tasks and objectives within the organization that needed to be fulfilled but they weren't certain that they had "bundled" them into the right position. Ultimately, I was told that they decided not to hire for the position at all. My suspicion is that they realized in the interview process that they needed to redraft the job description and perhaps create more positions to handle the objectives.
