Application
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Ann Arbor, MI) in Jan 2017
Interview
Target was at my universities career fair, from their I was asked for a quick phone interview where I talked through my resume and simple questions regarding past experience. I then had a behavioral interview on campus where we went through situations and how I handled past experiences.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Apr 2012
Interview
Initial interview was sitting before four people who were smiling... a lot. Everyone around the office was smiling and cheery... a little too cheery? The atmosphere was a little unnerving. I wandered into the Church of Scientology when I was a teenager, thinking it was a book store, it had the same homogenized joyfulness feeling. Then again, I'm a bit of an introvert. Pausing to thoughtfully decide how I was going to answer a question had them looking at each other, as if to say "what's wrong with him?" I'm not the type of person who is thinking about what I'm going to say next, while you are talking to me. I'm actively listening. In the end, I think they were looking for extroverts only, who go to the gym at least 6 times a week. Very fit bunch.
