Interview
My experience is a match so I received an email by their engineer a week after applying. 2 phone calls + 5 rounds on-site interview. The first round was a pen and paper test, and the rest were writing algorithm on white board or paper. I answered every problem during the interview and the follow-ups. They are in pressure and really wanted me to join. The engineer team gave me a strong hire decision to move on the process however their HR ghosted me for a month after the initial call. Rejected me with a ridiculous reason. if you read this: 1. The HRs at SMC are totally aswipe. They never show up until you finish the entire interview process. 2. They only contact you through LinkedIn message. super unprofessional. 3. no 401 K match 4. They barely reimburse interviewers for on-site interviews. (they paid my flight tickets though but the airbnb) 5. Don't give them the number first until you get the offer. Even it's within the salary range on the job description. Instead of another negotiation phone call, they would rather ask the engineer team to interview more candidates instead.

Interview
I had a 1-on-1 interview with a team member. The interview was relatively short and focused mainly on my background, basic Linux/system operation knowledge, and Git-related experience. The interviewer also explained some role expectations, including relocation to San Jose and occasional business travel. Overall, the process felt straightforward and conversational.

Interview
The HR representative is irresponsible, and the process was vague. Seems like they do not have exact applicant tracking system. I was ghosted without any explanation. They will reply on your email sometimes.

Attention international students seeking H-1B sponsorship: Avoid this company. They changed their policy this year and no longer offer H-1B sponsorship. Don’t waste your time. I went through all four rounds of interviews, and just when it was time to discuss the offer, I was informed that they couldn't proceed because they no longer sponsor H-1B visas. Very disappointing tbh.
