      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sunrise Senior Living (Fort Worth, TX) in Dec 2015

      Interview

When you put in an application, they will call you quickly. But the interview process is much less than quick. I, myself, went through 4 interviews in which they were unable to schedule outside normal business hours and expected me to be flexible. I work a full time job in which I was seeking transition. In the first interview, they group you with other applicants who are applying for completely different jobs, both hourly and salary. They ask you non-position based questions to learn your personality type. Then, they expect someone to ask what the "next step" in the process is at the end of the group interview. If they like you enough, they call you back for a 1 on 1 with the department manager. In that, you're asked questions pertaining to the position itself and your qualifications. For a management position, if you make it through that interview, you're moved into a "leadership interview" where they ask you inappropriate questions like "what happens if you get pregnant during employment, will you quit and be a stay at home mom?" And "tell me about your life outside work." I felt as if it should have been kept strictly professional and if you can't trust your management team to ask professional questions, I wouldn't involve them in the interview process. Once that interview is done, you're scheduled a phone interview with a regional director in your department. After that, you are told someone will contact you on Monday of the following week. So on Monday, you'll get no email or phone call. I called on Wednesday and was told I would find something out by the next week by Wednesday or so. On that Monday, I was sent a prefabricated email from the job board (I know because we use the same job board pre written emails for HOURLY positions) and it was not personalized other than my name or position applied for it stated that they had hired someone else. No phone call. No personal email from the director or anything. This process took FOUR WEEKS and 3 wasted PTO days to try and impress them. My skills are right on target and I have a great personality. Also, I was almost mocked several times for "doing my research on the company."

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sunrise Senior Living (Fairfax, VA) in Feb 2019

      Interview

Applied Online. The process took 1+ month. Received an email within two days of applying to schedule an on-site interview with the Executive Director (ED). The ED was very nice. Asked general questions about my skills and experience and went over the duties for the position. I was told I would be contacted within the next week to schedule a second interview with the Area Control (AC) and the Regional Director. The following week I heard nothing and sent an email to follow up. I quickly received an email a few hours later asking if I could do a second interview that same day with the AC. Because I am a flexible person, I agreed to the last minute phone interview. The AC asked skills and behavioral questions to assess my abilities. Two days later, I receive another email requesting that I do yet another interview with the HR manager. Again, I was asked several behavioral questions and skills related questions. I asked when a final decision would be made and received no straight answer (in so many words she basically told me that they were keeping the position open until they find the "perfect" person for the position) . A week and a half went by and I sent a follow up email and received no response. I am now going on 3 weeks since the third interview and have not been notified of a hiring decision. My concern is that if I am going to spend my valuable time to do three interviews with this company, I at least deserve a response to my follow up email of a decision. As of today, I have still heard nothing back about the position from this company. This process gave me a changed view of the company which resulted in me being grateful I did not get hired. If they treat prospective candidates like this then I would hate to be an employee.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sunrise Senior Living (Columbia, MD) in Apr 2018

      Interview

Started off with a brief phone screening, where they ask a couple of questions. For instance, what are your goals and what do you know about the community/company. If they like you they invite you to an in-person interview. This part is more behavioral questions and they look to see your answers. Depending on the job they may have you do a 2nd in-person interview with the regional person.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What are your goals? What do you know about the community/company? Name a time where you made a mistake and how you corrected it? When was a time you went above and beyond with a resident?
