I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at State Farm (Carmel, NY)
Interview
Phone screen with an independent agent. None of the questions asked why I wanted to work for the specific agency or State Farm. Interviewer was straight-forward and to the point. Any equivocation would be met with dead silence (likely to prompt further answers).
Pre-interview assessments consisted of a verbal/quantitative test and a "sales and leadership" test. The latter consisted of questions that asked the test taker to rate their agreement (on a five-point Likert scale) with statements that often overlapped with those found on psych. evaluations for anxiety, ADHD, and mood disorders. Few questions on the "sales and leadership" test asked about how the test taker deals with sales or leadership scenarios.
If you had to choose between a set salary or a lower base salary with a commission that potentially lets you earn more than the set salary, which would you choose and why?

Interview
I've interviewed with this company. Very straight forward process. Would recommend applying to this job. The steps depends on the recruiter the agency uses. Mainly over the phone interviews, video, and in person last.
I applied online. I interviewed at State Farm (Southaven, MS) in May 2026
Interview
It seems to be a very low base pay leading to sales. This was not something I am interested in for my career. I have had several interviews with state farm but very few offered benefits needed for my family.
Easy phone interview. Asked basic questions for the initial interview, was very fast and easy. Hear back in 48 hours. Was asked why I wanted the job, and how comfortable on a scale of 1-10 how comforatabke I was with sales
