I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at State Farm (Cedar Rapids, IA) in Oct 2014
Interview
Applied online, had a brief conversation with the State Farm Agent (you can call it a phone interview), went in for an interview with the agent. There was 12 minute pre-interview test and then an interview with the basic personality questions about experience and question and answer session. Took about 1 week to hear about the position. In the interview it was expressed that it was a sales position and a decent chunk of the pay would be commission.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at State Farm
Interview
Very Casual, not a tough interview. Everything was fairly straight forward. Talked on the phone with agent then set an interview with him for coffee. Once we discussed things we met in the office.

Depending on the agents that the process varies. One of the most comprehensive process was firstly personality test, then math test, then initial interview with team lead, then second indepth interview, then licensing passing requirement.
