Applied online, and they got back to me a few months later. The interview was in person, about 30 minutes. They asked mainly behavioral questions with some basic technical questions asking what kind of programming experiences I have.

      P&C Actuarial Interview

      29 Nov 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bloomington, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at State Farm (Bloomington, IL) in May 2019

      Interview

The interview went fairly well, but it was a lot to undertake and had one main point of frustration The **major** red flag in this interview was when one of the interviewers took out a printed copy of the school transcript I submitted, and proceeded to go through and question me about my early college grades. I should not have to justify any less-than-stellar marks in an interview setting. I can assure you I did my best with those 3-hour 8:00am chemistry classes, and my GPA only increased from that point on. What else would you need to know? On top of this, it was a 6.5 hour visit with 8 different people and very little time in-between to breathe. It became very difficult to keep track of who I had told what answers to after the first few hours. Not sure why they would spend so much time for just an entry-level position. It also included a tour of the facility and the surrounding area - which was clearly aimed to convince me that Bloomington is a great place to live. They knew I already knew a lot about the area, so it was a bit redundant and unnecessary. Despite this, I had a previous interview with SF that went very well. This one, however, was far from worthwhile.
