I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks in Jul 2012
Interview
You will be working through a recruiter to start and will have 2 initial phone interviews with them and then they will line up a in person. The in person will be with between 2 and 3 people, all being either DM's or two DM's and a SM.
All of the interviews are based on the STAR format. My biggest piece of advice is to know your stories. Starbucks is all about telling your story and making sure you are specific with the details.
Also, recruiters get bonuses off of bringing you on below the mid point, but if they want you they will pay you over that.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions are not hard, but the phone and in person will last between 25-45 minutes each
I applied online. I interviewed at Starbucks in May 2026
Interview
Super easy. Applied online. A recruiter reached out for initial interview, was about 15-30 minutes. Recruiter set up second interview with DM and peer DM for the following week. After that, was interviewed by the regional.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Starbucks (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2026
Interview
Two district sanagers interviewing over Microsoft Teams. Extensive, heavy "STAR" use required in questions with follow up questions from interviewers. 5 questions for me but our interview went nearly an hour, overall friendly.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Starbucks (Concord, CA)
Interview
You first have a screen with the recruiter, and she sets up time to speak with you. If you pass that, you get sent to the DM and interview with that DM and another DM and then usually decision after that.
