I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Starbucks (Denver, CO) in Jul 2009
Interview
The applications are online at their website now. The interviews are pretty standard as well. Don't look like a slob. No jeans and t-shirt. It's a business, not a local shop. I'd suggest khaki or black slacks and a black or white collared shirt, since that is the uniform that they require.
The questions are also pretty standard. They'll ask what you know about coffee and Starbucks as a company. They'll ask you why you think you'd like to work there. The key is be genuine. I've done a handful of interviews and it is quite easy to see when people are being fake.

Question 1
They will ask you how you deal with certain ethical problems, like catching another employee stealing.
It was not as bad as I thought, they asked me about my values, we talked about experiences with customers ( they are very big on treating customers right so a big emphasis on this) and time management
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks in May 2026
Interview
Applied online, then called the store a week later, said they weren’t hiring for that position actually and then 3 weeks later got a random call for an interview. Two rounds of interviews
I applied for a position online and got a call back pretty much the next day. Interview questions are more based on your ability to tell a story than a right or wrong answer. Two rounds of interviews.
