      Software Developer Interview

      11 Feb 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Minneapolis, MN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Spok (Minneapolis, MN)

      Interview

The hiring manager was very intimidating. They were very picky in terms of technical backgrounds and leadership abilities rather than understanding where I would fit in with the company. I felt extremely uncomfortable and expected to be a robot that knows everything. It felt like they wanted knowledge over personality. By the end of the interview I felt as if the life was completely sucked out of me and I was stripped of my successes in the work I've done in the past. They made me feel more like a failure than feeling successful at what I have accomplished. I would not ever consider working at a place that treats someone like that. Ever.
