I applied online. I interviewed at Small Batch Standard (Washington, DC) in Nov 2025
Interview
The interview process was professional and straightforward. I had a short phone screening followed by a video interview. They asked about my accounting experience, QuickBooks skills, handling invoices, problem-solving, and communication. The entire process felt organized and respectful.

Question 1
"How do you handle multiple accounting tasks at the same time while staying accurate and meeting deadlines?”
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Small Batch Standard
Interview
Impersonal and disappointing interview process
You apply through what feels like a Google Form that includes scenario questions. This part was fine because it showed me that I could do the daily tasks. Next step is a one-way video interview where you record answers to a few prompts. The whole process moved so quickly that it did not feel like anyone reviewed my resume or the videos I submitted. Communication and feedback were minimal.
It felt less like a hiring process and more like submitting homework to an automated grader. I was curious about the company at first, then I was glad to be turned down. If recruiting is this impersonal, working there might be too.

Question 1
Please describe what a proper monthly accounting close looks like?
What is your number one weakness? What have you done to improve it or mitigate it in the past?
You seem to be both capable and motivated, so I’m sure you could have your pick of where to work next. So why us? Why now?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Small Batch Standard (Jacksonville, FL) in Mar 2024
Interview
Filled out the applications first. Then three emails and fill out some questions. Then if you get hired it is ll through text and emails. I was not used to this type of hiring so I thought it was a scam at first.
