I got a referral and had a 30 minute phone screen with HR. She asked about my background and tried to highlight points related to the analyst role. The conversation progressed to salary compensation, but then I was confused as to why a possible contract role can be an option. My previous two roles were contract roles, but keep in mind, we are living in a pandemic and I did not graduate with strong work experience that the industry demands. All I wanted was a chance to learn and prove I have the drive to be better and gain more skills (math, logic, analysis, marketing). I was then given a 15 question Quantitative math assessment which was HORRIFIC. I emailed the recruiter and told her that the reviews on Glassdoor can make a significant difference in the hiring process as you move forward. My comments are consistent with what others are saying. I withdrew my application and I believe I dodged a bullet. My gut told me I wouldn't get past this round. Regardless of how long it takes, I will find employment at a company that sees something in me and gives a Communications major an opportunity to show themselves.
