First, I interviewed with the CEO’s assistant who also helps with HR and recruiting. Next, I was expected to do a “take home assignment” which involved extensive research, analysis & content creation. What did you like/ what would you change for Instagram and TikTok for Silk and Sonder? Scheduled 7+ pieces of content (which involved shooting & creating content), making 2 TikToks, providing 3-5 strategy ideas & more. I spent 4 days on it before presenting to the CEO for over an hour. During which, she asked questions that were difficult to answer, short of me being able to read her mind. After I interviewed, I learned this was not in fact that last part of the hiring process, and there would be more interviews with different members of the company. Now I feel like Silk and Sonder did all of this just to take my concepts and ideas I worked so hard on…so basically, free labor.
