I've gone through 3 one on one interviews. I feel they dragged out the entire process, and it felt like I was about to become a manager for all the hassle. Just when I thought so far so good, they called me back again for a demo interview. Which is basically role play where I bring in a model and act like she's a customer and I do the whole sales pitch make up routine on her. It was a bit nerve racking since I had to go around the whole store and pick out makeup to use on my model. I barely even know the store so it felt like super market sweep.
I just wish they did the demo interview in the beginning to weed out prospective employees and then work on to the one on one interviews towards the end.

I got a call to set a date for an interview which I missed but they left a voicemail. I couldn't get a hold of the manager who called so went in person which then she set up the time and date.
It was a group interview of 3 candidates with the manager but only one of them showed up
Got asked many non work questions and a series of serious work related questions, was very comfortable and the environment was outgoing/friendly.
It did take awhile to get a call back from them since the interview was for available positions in the future and didn't get the job but got offered a position for working at jcpenny
Experience of the interview was fun but disappointing

Interview
The interview process was pretty straight-forward and simple. I got a call a few days before my first in-person interview and the manager talked to me about my previous work experience, why I was interested in working for Sephora as opposed to another makeup retailer, such as Nordstrom, Macy's, etc. Asked me a couple of potential customer situation questions like what would I do in certain circumstances. Then I was asked to come in for a group interview a few days later. Whole process took about an hour, and was really good. Thorough questioning and we had the opportunity to ask some of our own questions as well. Overall, one of the longer interviews I've ever had but I think in this case that was a good thing.
What is some advice someone has told you or a helpful experience you've had recently that helped you grow/learn? Specifically advice from a friend, parent, coworker.. Not just like a makeup-related thing.
