They contacted me for this position. In the job specifications, they were asking mainly for Linux working experience and just some knowledge about networks. It seemed to match my profile quite well, I also have some experience in the Security field. I asked for half day off at work to go to the interview in the Edinburgh office. I had a 2 hours interview with many questions about Linux, just quite few about networks. These guys were really nice, I enjoyed the conversation with them and they seem to be very happy with my knowledge. They told me the next stage will be an interview on the phone with one of the managers in EEUU, just 20 min to see how I can fit in the team.
I had to ask for another half day off at work because these people were very busy and they just can have the call at 4:30 pm and I needed to be at home in a quiet environment. And... it turn out it was not a 20 min interview, it lasted an hour with many technical questions again mainly about networks and I was so surprised!! At the end of the conversation I asked them which would be their ideal candidate for the role and they said a person with network trobleshoouting experience!!
I still don´t understand what really happened there. I lost my time, I spend one day of my holidays doing interviews for a position where my skills didn´t fit from the begining because I don´t have the network troubleshooting experience (just basic things) and it was not what they were asking for in the job specifications that they sent to me.
Worse than that I asked for feedback and the person from HR told me they would have an answer at the end of the week and they would contact me. Of course, they never contacted me back to say anything. Not really a good experience.
