I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Secret Double Octopus (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Jan 2025
Interview
You connect to a video interview with your camera on. And you are being interviewed by a cat! The guy wouldn't care to turn on his camera. Now, this "cat" is asking very intelligent (cat-wise) questions that are extremely relevant for a Senior SDE with many years of experience like: "How to copy files between two Linux machines in the office?", "Which client library you used for HTTP calls in Node?", "What are the private/public keys?". He also very openly questions the integrity of your resume and asks other intelligent questions like the following, with a "gotcha" effect: "What's the latest version number of React?", "There are so many technologies on your resume. What's the technology XYZ? Tell me about it. Maybe we need it also in our company", "You said you developed product XYZ. What was its competitor on the market?". Next, they invite you to come physically to their office for next interview rounds (not the final). If you say you'd rather do the interviews remotely and only attend physically for the latest round to save the over 3 hours commute to their office, they would just drop your candidacy. The reason is very simple and makes sense: the "bendability" test is the most important. You have to be cheap and desperate. Otherwise, they would need to pay you too much.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Secret Double Octopus (Wisconsin Rapids, WI) in Dec 2021
Interview
The interviews went very smoothly and where all straightforward. I interviewed with both United States based leadership, and then all the way up to the CEO in Israel. They where great to work with.
