Two phone interviews then one, 2 hour in-person interview. Spoke about my background / answered typical “Tell us about a time when” questions. Provided specific examples / details relating to how I would use my knowledge and experience for Schneider. Was unpleasantly greeted with a canned email 3 days later that let me know I was a good fit for the company but not a good fit for the position.
Did hear through the grapevine from a former employee that they are legally required to post and interview external candidates for positions that they’ve already secretly filled internally. I’m sure many companies do this but it seems unprofessional.
Originally, I really wanted to have a career with them but after sitting in the interview and listening to my interviewers talk about themselves for minutes on end and repeat things they had told me over the phone, I’m realizing that maybe they weren’t interested in me in the first place.
Words of advice to the HR people of Schneider- if you claim you are a family-based company, avoid sending out vague, cold, and sometimes inaccurate email responses.
