I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Samsara (Quebec, QC) in Oct 2024
Interview
I recently went through the interview process with Samsara and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had. Right from the start, it made a world of difference to have a recruiting team that genuinely cared. The recruiter and the coordinator were supportive, communicative, and flexible, assisting me in finding the best interview times that worked with my schedule and helping me prepare in every step.
The process was extensive but very fair, which is understandable because they want to ensure the match is right for both sides. I appreciated the thoroughness—it felt like they were invested in finding the right fit, not just for them, but for me as well. The recruiting process included interview with the recruiter, the hiring manager, an interview panel, a presentation, and a final interview.
The hiring manager was transparent and honest about the benefits and challenges of the role. They explained everything clearly, setting the right expectations.
The interview panel stood out as well-prepared and professional. They had great questions, showing they had thoroughly reviewed my experience and were genuinely interested in how I could contribute to the team. I felt like they wanted me to succeed and appreciated the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere they created.
It was clear that Samsara puts a lot of effort into ensuring they bring in the right people.

Questions about my career and experience, and also behavioral questions.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Samsara (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2025
Interview
They would ask you basic questions in the JD, Learn IT Ops and how technologies like cloud and data are solving problems. The HR staff are friendly but they would test your knowledge of the job

Interview
Good and positive experience. Walking thru the process was very useful. Initial screening focus based on the experience one had. And feedback provided as a follow up. Enough time was provided to the candidate to answer the questions and ask any clarifications or follow up queries.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Samsara in Aug 2025
Interview
Extensive process involving many rounds - recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, take-home case, interview loop/panel with live case and behavioral, and then exec call. The exec I spoke with was not prepared for the interview and the call itself felt very disorganized. In my experience, the only interview that truly mattered was the exec call -- the rest of the rounds, case study, etc are a lot of time and effort for very little return, no matter how well you perform.

Most questions are behavioral "tell me about a time when X" style questions, just like Amazon's leadership principle-based questions. Follow the STAR format and you'll do well.
