      Onboarding Manager Interview

      24 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Royal Caribbean Group in Mar 2025

      Interview

I am extremely disappointed with the candidate experience I had during my application process for the Onboarding Manager position at Royal Caribbean Cruise. From the start, the process raised multiple red flags, and the lack of organisation made me question the company’s hiring practices. First, the scheduling of interviews was an absolute mess. I received multiple emails with the wrong times, forcing me to correct the team on several occasions. It became clear that better direction and oversight are needed. Eventually, after receiving an email with incorrect times again, I was asked to attend an interview at 8 PM on a Friday evening completely unreasonable as it was an error on their part. After being rescheduled multiple times, I finally received an email with the correct time, it's not hard especially when you are using a generic, copy and paste template. At one point, I was even asked to reapply through their ATS system, adding further confusion to the process. The interview itself lacked structure and enthusiasm. The overall tone of the interview was robotic. When I received the rejection email, it was a clear it was a copy and paste message, offering no specific feedback or insight. It was extremely frustrating given the time and energy I had put into the process. The Royal Caribbean Cruise needs to take a closer look at its hiring processes and candidate experience. A more organised, respectful, and transparent approach would not only improve candidate relations but also reflect better on the company as a whole. I was genuinely excited about the opportunity, but the disorganisation and lack of professionalism left me with no confidence in their processes. It’s a shame, as I was looking forward to potentially contributing to the company in a positive way. The role itself is relatively simple and doesn't require complex skills.
