      Business Operations Manager Interview

      13 Oct 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rippling (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Interview process was really smooth and efficient. Started with a recruiter reachout, hiring manager screen, homework assignment, and virtual onsite. Final round was a mix of cross-functional and team members (Finance, Product, Marketing). Appreciated that the overall process moved relatively quickly and the team was friendly. They seemed to know by the end of each call whether they wanted to move to the next stage.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mix of behavioral and light case-like questions (e.g. how would you set targets for a GTM motion, how would you set OKRs for these teams)

      Business Operations Manager Interview

      25 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Rippling (New York, NY) in Jul 2024

      Interview

The interview process for the Business Operations Manager role at Rippling involved two stages. The first was a behavioral interview focusing on past experiences, interest in the company, and how I handle ambiguity and challenges. The second round consisted of a challenging case study. In one part, I was asked to outline the key steps and workstreams for launching a new product within 60 days, with a clear expectation for a detailed and structured plan. Another part focused on pricing strategy: I was shown a graph with two pricing models—one where the price decreases as the number of seats increases and another with a flat pricing structure—and asked to analyze which model would work better for a single-product company versus a multi-product company. While the behavioral round was straightforward, the case study required a deeper understanding of product strategy and pricing models. Unfortunately, the interviewer during the case study was very distracted, barely looked at the camera, and did not try to make the process easier or create a comfortable atmosphere. It felt like he wasn’t listening to my responses, which made the experience frustrating and unproductive. This lack of engagement left no surprise about the bad outcome of the process. While the overall structure of the interview was fine, the interaction could have been handled more professionally.

      Question 1

If Rippling were to launch a new product in 60 days, what key steps or workstreams would you focus on? Analyze two pricing models: one where price decreases as the number of seats increases, and another with a flat pricing structure. Which model is better for a single-product company versus a multi-product company, and why?
