This was arranged via staffing company, but actual contact started with a phone screen. Lasting approximately 20 minutes, I spoke with the hiring manager and was asked some behavioral questions (i.e. why do you want to work here, where do you see yourself in five years) followed by technical questions (i.e. what are theoretical plates, peak tailing, etc.). It’s a very technical job so these questions were necessary, but difficult and I did not know most of them. Following this was the on-site interview consisting of three parts: tour, behavioral questions, and technical questions. The tour was quick as it’s a small facility and the interview was in front of four people. Behavioral is as expected, a variety of questions regarding yourself and the job, and the technical consisted entirely of the questions I could not answer on the phone screen (I was warned of this by the hiring manager at the end of the phone screen).
