      Inside Sales Representative Interview

      16 Sept 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Fort Mill, SC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Red Ventures (Fort Mill, SC) in Jun 2013

      Interview

At first I was given a brief phone screen, only 10 minutes or so. It was basically evaluating if you knew how to conduct a professional conversation over the phone or not. Next was the full phone interview which was around 40 minutes. Pretty standard interview questions (how do you handle stress, a time you took initiative, strengths, weakness, etc) except for one. She asked me "if you could invent absolutely anything right this second what would it be?" Caught me off guard so I answered with a Universal Language Translator. If you pass this, you will be scheduled an onsite and also be emailed a mock script of a typical sale. (Rapport Building, Educating the customer on the product, Building customer specific value, a pitch, an objection, and rebuttal...the usual) The onsite segment was unique. You are not alone. usually about 10-15 other candidates with you. You receive a tour of the facilities, presentations on the the business started and how it operates, and introduction to some managers. You will then have a 1-on-1 interview, starting with "Tell me about yourself" and then onto things like "When have you turned a negative situation into a positive one" and "how do you react to constructive criticism". Now is whee you do your mock sale, with the interviewer being the customer. You will then "buddy jack" with a sales agent while they are on the phone live. Buddy Jacking is you also have a headset and you are live listening to the conversation. After this I had another 1-on-1 that was almost identical to the original one. It is not some sort of absurdly hard interview process, but the last question they said to me was "Okay, here is a garden hose. You have 1 minute to tell me as many possible uses as you can think of to make out of this. Go" A tad bit unorthodox, but they do have a beer garden inside of their bowling alley, so it makes sense.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Red Ventures (Charlotte, NC)

      Interview

The interview process was smooth. Normal questions & they’re very straight forward , look into the company before applying cause they ask you about it. It’s also very hard to get an interview with red ventures so if you got it then they’re really looking forward to hiring you. Also they’re going to ask you to sell something to them, they’ll pick an object in the room and you have to make a pitch on the spot but they are very friends & will train you very well
