Started this process on Jul 10 with a written screening, then a first round video call with the hiring manager on Jul 20. After following-up on 3 separate occasions, on Aug 4 there was still no real update/decision made and I was told they still had interviews to get through. The recruiter said they'd start getting to second-round scheduling "at the end of next week"...okay. On Aug 16, I notice there's a new listing posted on Linkedin with the same req number. I follow-up AGAIN the next day and ask about this only to be told "the manager has decided he needs to hire a more jr. candidate based on budgetary constraints." And also "I'm on vacation this week, but let's touch base on Monday." RedHat has always had a slow interview process from my experience, so I find it hard to believe they took this long for just the first round and didn't know the budget wasn't big enough. I'm more upset that the recruiter couldn't be bothered to update me on any of this despite me saying previously that communication for this position sucked.
