      Interview

Pretty standard startup interview process. Started with fit questions, then a take-home business case and an onsite panel with a few more live cases. No curveballs, felt relatively straightforward. Process was really efficiently run, never had to wait more than a few days to hear back after a given step, which I appreciated.

      Business Operations Interview

      17 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ramp

      Interview

Disappointing hiring manager first round interview, which led me to formally withdraw from the process less than a day later. The questions were relatively straightforward, until the interviewer expressed concern over my current experience, despite the fact that it was explicit on my resume through both my job title and responsibilities. I felt a marked shift in their tone once realising this, which made me uncomfortable throughout the rest of the interview. At the end, when I was asking questions, my interviewer's responses were curt and uninterested. After withdrawing, the recruiter reached out and requested to speak to me further. I accepted, but they never responded to my final email. Interviews are a two-way street, and for such a small company, I expected better initial vetting on their end before I made time out of my work day to speak with the hiring manager for a lost cause.

Hi there - we're very sorry you had a bad experience interviewing. We really appreciate you taking the time to interview and share your feedback. It sounds like we could have done a better job both on the interview experience and communications in this case. We're always working on improving our hiring processes and will do our best to address both the interview and communications moving forward. Thank you once again for sharing the feedback and we hope to do better in the future.
