Asked who my favorite president was. It turned out to be a Donald Trump loyalty litmus test. If you are wanting to work here get prepared to bend the knee and kiss up to Trump, otherwise they don’t want anything to do with you.

It's more who you know and having a network to back it up. It is very hard to apply and get in off the street. The interview process focuses heavily on what your knowledge level is for those on the hill/state governments.
