I interviewed at RH (Corte Madera, CA)

      Interview

I applied online and received an invite for an in-person interview the next day. There was no phone screen. Phone screens are important because sometimes you find out in the first 5 minutes that it won't work out. I interviewed at their corporate office. The interview went well. The person I met with was very nice, and the interview was relaxed and comfortable. Their corporate campus is growing and will likely be nice when completed. I was never asked my salary requirement. This should be addressed so the company knows if they can meet it. This question is usually a part of a screen-but they didn't have that. Why continue on if you can't pay a person. They didn't ask me so I guess their pockets are deep or it just wasn't a well thought out interview. As a recruiter -candidate experience is very important to me- a large part of that is follow up. Three weeks went past and I never heard back regarding the next steps. I reached out and was told I would hear something within a week. I never did. If a person takes the time to come in for an interview they deserve timely follow up. They likely didn't follow up because I wasn't selected to move forward- if that's true then tell me that. Geez! As a recruiter and candidate-I find it off putting when talent acquisition teams don't value candidate experience. If I was ever to work there I would start with improving candidate experience- i.e. high touch customer service. I withdrew from the interview process because I don't think we share the same ideas about the recruiting process, and I didn't have time to sit around and wait on them.
