It was a fairly typical interview process, given the nature of the organization (all employees work from home and from different places around the country) and the times (COVID, when many things are done online anyway). I had three interviews: one with two employees, and two with the CEO. They communicated in a timely fashion before the interviews. In fact, I even got a list of topics that would be covered in my second interview with the CEO, which allowed me to prepare for that interview.
However, after the second interview, they essentially dropped me and didn't communicate for a long time. In that second interview, at the beginning of August, they said they wanted to fill the position by September. Well, September and a few subsequent months came and went with absolutely no word from them. I felt they had forgotten about me. It wasn't until almost 4 months - 4 long months! - that I heard back from them, and even then, it was a cold and impersonal email signed only with the title of one of the staffers I had interviewed with. No actual human signed his/her name (nobody I had interviewed with). Wow! I'm glad I didn't get the job anyway. They showed their true colors at the end - how cold, unfriendly and impersonal they were.
