Process:
- Phone screen
- Personality quiz
- In person
- Take home coding assignment
First was a phone screening of 20 minutes with a person from an outsourced talent team. Then invited for an in-person interview the following week. I was greeted very warmly.
The in person part of the interview involved two people of developer and lead roles. From here on, it went down hill. My experience with the two people felt awkward, they sit you down and begin asking purely technical questions off a sheet of paper. They struggled to clarify their questions which showed a lack of knowledge around the technology. Upon answering their questions, I didn't get any reaction or response.
The in person apparently went well as they sent me a take home coding assignment. The take home was simple to complete and I finished it in a day.
After a week or so, I was contacted by the outsourced talent recruiter, declining me because I wasn't experienced enough for the position. Got confused because they gave no feedback on the assignment and rejections based on less experience should have been determined in the earlier stages of the interview and/or my resume. So why send the follow up assignment if I didn't fit the experience criteria?
