I was contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter to see if I would be interested in learning more about the company/an open position. After agreeing to this and getting a time set up we had an initial phone screen. During the phone screen I was asked what I knew about the company and why I wanted to work there (even though the recruiter conducting the phone screen was supposed to provide me with that information). I was told the interview process would include the phone screen, an interview with the VP of Engineering, a technical assessment, another interview with the team, and a final phone screen for any lingering questions. I didn't make it past the second step in this long backwards process but am almost glad I didn't. It's a startup that seems to be trying to grow faster than it knows how to handle. The people were nice and seemed like they'd be decent enough to work with, but there doesn't seem to be too much opportunity for continued growth and learning at the moment.
