Pros

The people make this place. Smart, low-ego teammates who actually care about getting things right for customers. Cross-functional collaboration is real — product, engineering, and CS work together rather than over the fence. Leadership is accessible and gives you room to own your work without micromanaging. Pace is fast but you're trusted to prioritize.

Cons

High bar means high expectations. Not the right place if you want to coast.

Positive Inflection Point

Pros

The culture here is genuinely strong and moves at an extremely fast pace, if you thrive on speed and ownership, you'll feel right at home. The product is excellent, with a sticky, defensible moat that sets it apart in the market. It solves real problems in a way that isn't easily commoditized, and I'd argue it's the kind of product that AI would have a very hard time replacing or replicating. That durability is a big part of why I'm bullish on where things are headed. There have been some more negative reviews lately, and I think that's a reflection of Polly being at an inflection point rather than a sign of decline. From where I sit, this inflection point is a net positive. New leadership is coming in soon, and I believe they'll raise and reset the bar in a way that pushes the company forward.

Cons

Communication could be tighter across the org. The biggest opportunity is better aligning company-level goals with individual roles and priorities, when people can clearly see how their work ladders up to the bigger picture, both engagement and execution improve.

Pros

I had some great colleagues. It's unfortunate the environment Polly put them in. I do not know a single person who enjoyed their job.

Cons

If you're considering working here, go in with your eyes open. I've worked at multiple startups, and this was by far the most toxic leadership culture I've experienced. The CEO and C-suite create an environment where image matters far more than execution, and what employees are told internally often doesn't match what customers are promised externally. During the interview process, you'll hear a lot about needing "scrappy," hardworking people. In reality, being good at your job isn't enough. The people who seem to thrive are the ones willing to drink the Kool-Aid, avoid questioning leadership, and will tell the CEO what they want to hear. Priorities change constantly, sometimes multiple times before lunch. Entire projects are dropped or redirected on a whim because leadership operates in a perpetual state of reaction rather than strategy. It's exhausting and creates complete chaos for the teams trying to deliver for customers. The level of arrogance at the executive level is difficult to overstate. There is little accountability when leadership makes poor decisions, but employees are expected to absorb the consequences. Feedback isn't welcomed unless it reinforces the existing narrative. In fact, I'm positive that team is responsible for the most recent reviews (trying to bury the truth). The culture often feels less like a technology company and more like a personality cult centered around the CEO. If you're looking for transparency, thoughtful leadership, or a company with a clear long-term vision, this probably isn't the place. If you enjoy constant chaos, shifting priorities, and leadership that believes its own hype, you'll fit right in.
