I passed the CV screening and had a first meeting scheduled, which was canceled about 20 minutes before because the position had already been filled. The recruiter then proposed another role, and after I confirmed my interest, there were no updates. Only after following up myself, I was told that this second position had also been filled.
Unfortunately, the same pattern happened twice. While I understand the market is difficult, canceling interviews last minute and offering roles that are already near closure creates unnecessary friction for candidates.
A more transparent and better-coordinated hiring process would improve the experience significantly.

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PlayStation (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2019
Interview
Overall interview process is pretty quick. The process involves phone screen, one day take home assignment, and onsite interview. Phone screen involves knowledge test on Java and Spring. On site interview covers behavior and tech questions. The whole process is about two weeks.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at PlayStation (New York, NY)
Interview
Applied online. A call from hiring manager followed by a phone interview from another manager I guess. I thought it will be a technical round but it wasn't. Total waste of time.
