I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Pier 1 Imports (La Crosse, WI) in Sept 2010
Interview
You have to apply in-store so I came in and applied. After a couple days I received a phone call and they asked me to come in for an interview. I sat down with the store manager for about an hour and talked about my previous retail experience. I felt pretty good about the interview and he said he gets a lot applicants but can only hire 1-2 and doesn't interview everyone. He asked some situational questions but really just wanted to know how I would fit in there, selling furniture.
They asked 5 basic questions then asked me to speak about myself and my previous position. They asked where I saw myself in 5, 10 then 15 years. After I responded, they gave me their insight
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pier 1 Imports (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2014
Interview
I was asked questions about how I interact with customers from a customer service standpoint. I was called in to interview about a week after I applied online. The interview took less than one hour.

Question 1
How I would multi-task if handling more than one customer. How would I handle an objectionable customer, and why did I want the job?
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Pier 1 Imports (Spring Valley, NY) in Oct 2010
Interview
I went into Pier 1 and filled out an application. They also gave me the job description to read over to make sure this was something I was interested in persuing. What I liked about this process is that they allowed you to come in and talk to a person, instead of an online/computer automated system

Question 1
How would I handle a customer who came in and was upset?
