      Associate Interview

      18 Aug 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Pariveda (Chicago, IL) in May 2011

      Interview

The process lasted a week, and was sped along by my recruiter since I was pirsuing other opportunities as well. It consisted of a meeting with the recruiter on day 1, a technical scree and a manager interview 2 days later, and a series of 3 interviews in Dallas 3 days after that. The first meeting with the recruiter was to tell me about the company and make sure my personality type was a fit. The second day of interviews consisted of 2 interviews in 3 hours. The first was spent describing the technical work I had done for a pair of managers, who seemed to be asking questions to mak sure I didn't overstate my experience on my resume. The second was with the head of our office, and was more about my ability to lead a team. For the third round, I first had a conversation with the COO of the company on what the goals were long term and what the rest of the day would entail. I then had a 2 hour analytical case, solving one problem and then presenting the solution to a panel of executives, who really tore into my solution and made sure that I knew what I was talking about and was confident in my work. This was followed by a shorter case that involved leading a team during a crisis situation at a client. Finally there was a technical screen one on one with a principal that was similar to the one in Chicago. I walked out thinking I had failed, but got the offer as soon as I landed in Chicago.

      Question 1

Are you sure that's the best way to solve that piece of the problem? This was asked many times while I presented my analytical case.

      Interview

It was a long interview process that included a case study which was around 4 hours long. It wasn't a tough interview but was stressful/time consuming. Overall, it was a good interview process and fun to get to know the people from the company.

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pariveda in Oct 2018

      Interview

A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. I haven't heard of the company before but after we went through what Pariveda was about, I was sold. We had a chat about my goals and current experience. Shortly after, we setup a technical interview with a principal at Pariveda. We went into a lot of the work that I currently did. They really went into in depth concepts of what I was working on. What was interesting to me was how we went into more detailed concepts that I haven't thought about and a few curveball questions. I.e. if you say you work with xml and JSON, they want to make sure you know why you are using one or the other and why. Curve ball questions are fun so take a minute to process before answering. I was then invited to come into the office I wanted to join, and met 2 VP's for a behavior interview. We went through my resume and my upcoming goals in a more conversational manner. It was low stress and even enjoyable if you want to talk about your goals and visions. Follow STAR questions. Lastly, I was invited to final whole day interview. It consisted of 3 cases, one of them being an analytical case. In addition there was another technical interview. Although challenging, if you come in with a consulting mindset, quick thinking and answering, I think you'll be fine. Case was fun! Don't think its a interview but more real life question.

      Interview

couple round of interviews, including personality assessment junk, round 1 with a VP, then other rounds that includes case interviews and more in person interviews. they are pretty thorough

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mostly behavioral questions. They have a silly boiler plate template of responses they want. If you dont give it to them, then they dont give you a chance. What a waste of my time! I wish I never talked to you guys at the career fair! =(
