I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Outvio (Tallinn) in Dec 2022
Interview
Hiring manager - good work. Positive and fast. Home work assignment and technical team interview was also good. Balanced and friendly. The product and office seemed good. CEO/CPO meeting was not a culture fit. My impression from that management was that they expect Elon-style hardcore mode from the workers with 100% office attendence and not a balanced results-oriented approach. So, unfortunate to have wasted 3 days on programming. But good luck to others.
I was not employed at Outvio but had a chance to participate in the interviewing process.
After the screening interview, I was given a test task to complete before the case study.
Few days after I submitted my solution, I received a blank response "At this time we decided not to move forward with your application (the test task was not strong enough to move forward in the process)." That's it,
- no case study (yes, even if the solution is weak some companies still have them to see if the candidate has other strong sides which they were not able to demonstrate in the test task),
- no feedback (if you ask a person to spend ~5-8 hours of their spare time on the test task, please make sure to spend 10 minutes to write at least a short feedback e-mail pointing out the mistakes/weak sides or describing the desired solution)
Overall I received a very poor candidate experience.
