I applied through university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Denver, CO) in Nov 2012
Interview
My initial contact with the company was through our school career fair. I did not receive an on-campus interview; however, after about a month I was invited to an on-site interview. Several other candidates attended as well. We were introduced to the company by several panels of employees (young and old). We were then put through two interviews. Each interview consisted of 2-3 interviewers in a small office. The interviews were very down-to-earth. There were standard H.R. type questions and several questions regarding project and job experience. Several of the candidates were asked very technical oriented questions. I myself was not.

Question 1
[paraphrasing] "You are an electrical engineer. This is a software engineering position. Prove to me that you have what it takes to work here."

Interview
Technical questions and behavioral questions (STAR formatting) with the normal what draws you to work for us. Microsoft Teams meeting with a panel to review answers. Took roughly 1 hour and it was a very straightforward and easily made process.
Formal, not too stressful. Ensures you understand the basics and thay you know what you're talking about as you may be getting interviewed by somebody that's technical at some point.
The interview process was fairly straightforward; I have applied in March 2026 and got an interview in April 2026. It was a video interview on Teams with two other team members, just under an hour.
