Contacted via phone after applied on the Federal Governments job board. It was not much of an interview and I found it to be straightforward. My resume consisted of 6 years working in the same environment within the government as a contactor and then as an employee. With this being said I imagine the recruiter saw that it was a one to one comparison for where I was coming from to where I was going and quickly asked if I would like the job.

Position was open and felt like it needed to be filled right away so the most difficult question was would like to work there and that pay.
Lots of steps and technical questions. Just prepare beforehand and you should be fine. 3 rounds of interviews with different levels of management. Overall, not bad just need to be knowledgeable about the role applying to.
1 on 1 interview with future manager. Standard behavioral questions followed with examples of me tackling projects in school. Definitely looking at more soft skills than my technical acumen. These are words to reach minimum
Contacted within a few weeks after application. Interviewed with team and head of the team. The whole process was done online. No highly technical questions only about my past experiences.
