I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Moka5 in Oct 2012
Interview
There are a few interviews, all technical, that are over the phone or in person depending on your location. The interviewer will gauge your technical knowledge and adjust the questions/hints to your level so as to test your problem solving abilities rather than technical knowledge. Once you go through the process once and get an offer, the process does not have to be done over to get an offer the next summer/winter.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Moka5 (Redwood City, CA)
Interview
Friend of a friend of a friend recommended that I interview here. I went to a small "job fair"-like event and sat in front of a panel of interviewers and answered some basic questions about myself and my experience. Later, I got an email saying that I should come in to a second interview in person. I got there expecting an hour-long affair, but ended up interviewing with 6 people, one-on-one each. It took about 3-4 hours. I wasn't given an offer on the spot, but it was strongly implied. The entire process took a few days before I got a confirmation of the offer from a manager and an HR packet from their HR rep. All communication was by email and in person; no phone interview.
