Interview
Applied through University. Process took 2 weeks
Met with a manager who had been with Metlife for over a decade. Interview was pure behavioral questions, walk me through your resume, etc, as well as some canned questions (Do you consider yourself a team player, give me your greatest accomplishment, do you have sponsorship to work in the US, etc.)
Did extremely well, built rapport, got the interviewer smiling as well as saying "I agree with you" multiple times. Did not proceed to second round interviews, and emailed the manager asking for feedback.
I was told I hadn't progressed due to expressing interest in moving back to Texas after a decade or so- my interviewer told me Metlife doesn't like training employees only to see them eventually leave. This must also be why the Analyst position is four years instead of 2-3. If you get an interview, tell them you plan on staying in NYC-NJ for the rest of your life, and with Metlife.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MetLife (Whippany, NJ) in Dec 2023
Interview
First reached out by recruiter via phone call. Asking very basic pre qualification questions. 1-hour video interview discussing background and experience. followed by in-person interview / meet the team. Beautiful office space in Whippany, New Jersey.
I applied online. I interviewed at MetLife (Whippany, NJ) in Oct 2020
Interview
Started with an on campus interview, very simple questions, then a super day at the Whippany office. At Whippany you will have 4 or 5 interviews with different associate/directors with a lunch in between. Fairly simple questions. Did not ask any questions about the company itself.
The interview process for Metlife was very fair. The interviewer was very kind and the conversation flowed smoothly. I did not feel nervous -- it seemed like a normal conversation. I was glad I received the opportunity to participate in this interview.
